MEET BRIAN PRECIOUS DECAY OF ROTTERDAM

Photographer Brian Precious Decay captures mesmerising shots of abandoned buildings and places. Driven by the questions of “what, why, when,” Brian uses a camera to show his exact view on abandonments, aiming to address the viewer’s fantasy. To get the perfect picture, Brian uses various techniques to improve contrast and lighting, then uses editing to ensure the mood suits the setting. A self-taught photographer, Brian received positive feedback on his work, but the ultimate recognition came when his series “The Abandoned Orient Express” went viral across CNN, NatGeo Traveler, and multiple U.K. newspapers in 2016. Based in his native Rotterdam, Brian cites this city as an inspiration, turning to its modern architecture for night photography when a creative block strikes. The next unexplored abandoned gem may be just around the corner!
